Hi Creative Team,
I just wanted to ‘encourage’ you again following on from what Josh was talking about last night – about encouraging others.

Some questions that you could ponder this week are:

How can I be more encouraging? Do I put others first? Who can I encourage/pray for this week? Am I being sincere when I encourage? Am I empowering others with my words/actions?

In context of ‘team’, I think that with encouragement comes unity!

Judges 20:22 says: But the men of Israel encouraged one another and again took up their positions where they had stationed themselves the first day…

Where there is UNITY God commands a blessing! We have an amazing team, full of fantastic people so let’s make it our goal to encourage and empower one another and build one another up!

You are all incredible!

Have an awesome week.

Love Katie

John 4:23-24 (The Message) “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.”

– How amazing is that!! You probably already know this, but this is a revelation that we have received recently and we thought we would share it with you.
Living a life of worship includes everything that we are and do and say. We desire nothing more for the creative team (and the worship of our church) but that it would be a true and authentic cry to our God. That we would fellowship with God and one another and build a strong, unified team full of people that are sold out for the cause of Jesus Christ. We want to build upon our skills, striving for excellence; not for excellence sake, but knowing that by giving everything we’ve got every time we play and sing, we will see a shift in the worship of our church congregation. We want to see every person encounter God through worship!

To do this, however it is going to mean a little bit of hard work! It requires each of us (yes, that is you too!) to pursue an ever deepening relationship with God through worship, prayer and reading of the word - as Sam Towns was saying on Wednesday – in worship you can’t take people where you haven’t been yourself. We need to continually strive to improve our musical skills – yes that means the P word (PRACTICE), to improve our time-management skills (e.g. arrive on time), and to improve our ability to work together as a team and put other’s needs before our own.

These are just a few small things that we can all work on, as they all play a part in the journey we are on to becoming an incredible worship team whose number one goal is seeing people’s lives changed through worship to our God. (not that you aren’t already incredible because you totally are, but no one can never reach that point where you’ve “got it” and there is no room for improvement can you? No, because when it comes to God, He is always challenging us and taking us to new places… there is always room to grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) So let’s roll up our sleeves and get into it hey!

We are so excited about what God is going to do in creative this year. There will be quite a few changes, but all good and positive and very exciting!!!!!!!! We will elaborate more at Band Camp – that means that you sooooooooooooo have to be there so you can get a hold of the vision and goals for this year!

It’s gonna be a good one!

Love you guys,

Josh & Katie

WORSHIP & CREATIVE ARTS

Hi Everyone,

Can you believe 2009 is drawing to an end? This time of year is so exciting but it can also be quite overwhelming for some of us.  Let me encourage you to try and take some time to just ‘chillax’ and remember what Christmas is all about!

It is such a privilege to serve God, His church and our community as part of Worship and Creative Arts at Energizer Life Church.  Our God is a God of extravagant creativity and we who are called to serve in this area are passionate about representing God in a real and relevant way.

All areas of Worship and Creative Arts work together to build one united team with one purpose; To Glorify God through the creative arts.

Production, Visual Media, Vocalists, Musicians, Administrators and many wonderful volunteers combine to create one amazing team. We believe that we are only one part of a much bigger vision that God has for our church and community.

This year we have been focussing on song-writing; as a team and as individuals. We desire to write anointed songs that really capture the heart of God for His church and its people. As we continue to seek what God would have us write, won’t you get excited with us and encourage the creative team as we endeavour to write songs that bless you, our church family, and that ultimately facilitate passionate worship to our God.

It is a privilege to serve you,

Josh and Katie Swift

We are called to lead our church in worship of God, and make his name heard. Through music, production, design and media we aim to bring greater excellence to every service in His house, and to bring authentic, passionate, Holy Spirit-inspired worship before our congregation.
