Girl’s Day 2010

January 19, 2010

My life today has been shaped, maybe more than I realise by the experiences and decisions that I made as a very young girl.  I have become increasingly aware of the incredible pressures that our girls face in modern times.

“... modern social pressures (are) forcing girls to grow up faster than those of previous generations. Not only that, but a girl of seven today (will) also struggle
with different issues that a girl aged twelve did just five years ago.” (’What’s Happening to our Girls?’ Maggie Hamilton)

Like you, I long to see our young girls flourish into brilliant young women. I would love to come alongside parents and carers who are doing an incredible work raising their beautiful girls to offer support and encouragement in whatever way that I can.

To this end, my team and I are very excited to again present; ‘Girl’s Day’- a day especially designed just for girls aged 7 to 11. At Girl’s Day we aim to provide a funky, fun programme laced with fun girly stuff we know they will love so each girl knows how valuable and special they are. At Girl’s Day we cover topics such as value and identity, connection and communication, caring and nurturing and health and nutrition.

We limit the number of girls that attend each time to an intimate 25, with the aim of making Girl’s Day an on-going part of our ministry to young girls. We would love to see the young girls in your world at Girl’s Day this year.
